त्रिसप्ततितमः सर्गः (Sarga 73): Mithilā Vivāha—Kanyādāna and the Fourfold Marriage Rites
पुत्र: केकयराजस्य साक्षाद्भरतमातुल:।दृष्ट्वा पृष्ट्वा च कुशलं राजानमिदमब्रवीत्।।।।
putraḥ kekayarājasya sākṣād bharatamātulaḥ | dṛṣṭvā pṛṣṭvā ca kuśalaṃ rājānam idam abravīt ||
Yudhājit, son of the Kekaya king and Bharata’s maternal uncle, met King Daśaratha; after seeing him and asking of his welfare, he spoke as follows.
Yudhajit, son of king Kekaya, Bharata's own maternal uncle met the king (Dasaratha) and enquiring about his well-being said:
Dharma is courteous inquiry and respect: asking a ruler’s welfare before speaking business reflects social righteousness and truth-aligned civility.
An interlude introduces Yudhājit approaching Daśaratha and beginning a conversation after formal greetings.
Yudhājit’s propriety and familial loyalty, shown through respectful greeting and concern for well-being.
