When that time had passed, the great sage Viśvāmitra became as though ashamed, given over to anxious reflection and sorrow.

"O Descendant of Raghu! while that woman of an exalted race lived in the hermitage of Viswamitra, ten years rolled by happily".

V
Viśvāmitra

Moral awakening and accountability: recognizing one’s lapse and feeling remorse is the first step back toward Dharma and truthful self-assessment (satya toward oneself).

After years of distraction, Viśvāmitra comes to a painful awareness of what has happened and is overcome by shame and grief.

Conscience and self-judgment (ātma-viveka): despite the fall, Viśvāmitra’s inner clarity re-emerges.
