अयोध्यावर्णनम् — Description of Ayodhya under Daśaratha

न नास्तिको नानृतको न कश्चिदबहुश्रुत: ।

नासूयको न चाशक्तो नाविद्वान्विद्यते तदा ॥

na nāstiko nānṛtako na kaścidabahuśrutaḥ |

nāsūyako na cāśakto nāvidvān vidyate tadā ||

At that time, there was no atheist, no liar, no one with scanty knowledge, no one jealous, no one incompetent, and no one unlearned.

A
Ayodhya

The verse explicitly states 'na anṛtakaḥ' (no liar), indicating that truthfulness was a fundamental virtue practiced by every citizen in the kingdom.

By stating there was no one 'abahuśrutaḥ' (of little hearing/learning) or 'avidvān' (unlearned), it suggests a society with universal literacy and deep knowledge of scriptures.
