As the king spoke thus, Vasiṣṭha—righteous in soul and generous in understanding—repeatedly urged him again and again to accept his hospitality.

"O Worshipful one O Profoundly wise one you are worthy of homage. You have excellently honoured me in all possible ways with whatever fruits and roots available in your hermitage, with water for washing feet and for sipping. You have permitted me darshan with your revered self. I shall leave (now). My regards Look upon me with eyes of friendship".

Vasiṣṭha
V
Viśvāmitra

A host’s duty includes earnest invitation and care for a guest’s comfort; dharma is proactive service, not mere formality.

Even after Viśvāmitra indicates he will depart, Vasiṣṭha continues to request him to stay and accept reception.

Vasiṣṭha’s steadfast hospitality and generous concern.
