शतानन्दोपदेशः — Śatānanda’s Welcome to Rāma and the Prelude to Viśvāmitra’s History
नास्ति धन्यतरो राम त्वत्तोऽन्यो भुवि कश्चन।गोप्ता कुशिकपुत्रस्ते येन तप्तं महत्तप:।।।।
nāsti dhanyataro rāma tvatto ’nyo bhuvi kaścana | goptā kuśika-putras te yena taptaṁ mahat tapaḥ ||
“O Rāma, no one on earth is more fortunate than you: the son of Kuśika is your protector—he who has performed mighty austerities.”
Rama! Son of Kushika (Viswamitra) who has performed great austerities is your protector. Therefore, there is none on this earth more fortunate than you.
Dharma is safeguarded through rightful guardianship: protection by a spiritually accomplished guide enables the hero to act correctly and fulfill righteous aims.
Śatānanda emphasizes that Rāma’s association with Viśvāmitra is an exceptional blessing because Viśvāmitra’s tapas empowers his protective role.
Viśvāmitra’s protective responsibility rooted in ascetic power, and Rāma’s receptivity to guidance—an essential virtue for dharmic leadership.
