Shloka 1.50.11

यज्ञवाटप्रवेशः जनक-विश्वामित्रसंवादश्च (Arrival at the Sacrificial Ground and Janaka’s Reception)

जनकस्य वचश्श्रुत्वा निषसाद महामुनि:।।1.50.11।।पुरोधा ऋत्विजश्चैव राजा च सह मन्त्रिभि:।

janakasya vacaḥ śrutvā niṣasāda mahāmuniḥ |

purodhā ṛtvijaś caiva rājā ca saha mantribhiḥ ||

Hearing Janaka’s words, the great sage (Viśvāmitra) sat down. Then the family priest, the officiating priests, the king, and the counsellors also took their seats in due order.

In response to Janaka's words, great sage Viswamitra occupied his seat. Thereafter the family priests, officiationg priests of the sacrifice, counsellors and also the king occupied their seats according to their rank.

Dharma here appears as proper conduct in a sacred setting—maintaining decorum and order (yajña-maryādā), honoring a sage, and observing social-ritual propriety.

At Janaka’s sacrificial venue, after Janaka speaks, Viśvāmitra sits; then the royal and priestly assembly takes their seats formally.

Janaka’s reverence and administrative propriety: he ensures orderly proceedings and respect toward spiritual authority.
