बालकाण्ड सर्ग ३६ — गङ्गा-प्रभवप्रश्नः, शिवतेजोधारणं, कार्त्तिकेय-जन्म, उमाशापः
अथोमां च शिवं चैव देवास्सर्षिगणास्तदा।पूजयामासुरत्यर्थं सुप्रीतमनसस्तत:।।।।
athomāṁ ca śivaṁ caiva devāḥ sarṣigaṇās tadā |
pūjayāmāsur atyarthaṁ suprītamanasas tataḥ ||
Thereafter, the gods—together with the hosts of seers—worshipped both Umā and Śiva with profound devotion, their hearts greatly pleased by what had occurred.
Thereafter highly pleased with the event the devatas along with the saints worshipped Siva and goddess Uma with deep devotion.
Dharma includes reverence and gratitude toward divine order: worship acknowledges rightful hierarchy and the restoration of balance.
After the successful handling of Rudra’s tejas and the resulting auspicious outcome, the Devas and seers offer worship to Umā and Śiva.
Kṛtajñatā (gratitude) and bhakti (devotional reverence) as appropriate responses to cosmic beneficence.
