तृतीयः सर्गः (Bālakāṇḍa 3): Vālmīki’s Yogic Verification and the Epic Synopsis
तत: पश्यति धर्मात्मा तत्सर्वं योगमास्थित: ।पुरा यत्तत्र निर्वृत्तं पाणावामलकं यथा ।।।।
tataḥ paśyati dharmātmā tat sarvaṃ yogam āsthitaḥ |
purā yat tatra nirvṛttaṃ pāṇāv āmalakaṃ yathā ||
Thereafter, that righteous sage—established in yoga—saw all that had occurred long ago, as clearly as an āmalaka fruit resting in one’s palm.
With the power of yoga, the righteous (Valmiki) saw clearly, like an amalaka fruit in thepalm of the hand the entire course of events that happened in the past relating to Rama.
Dharma supports clarity and truthful remembrance: the past is not distorted when perceived through disciplined, righteous insight.
Valmiki enters yogic concentration and gains a vivid, ‘direct-seeing’ vision of Rama’s past events.
Valmiki’s yogic discipline and dharmic purity, enabling transparent perception (yathāvat-darśana).
