Shloka 1.3.31

तृतीयः सर्गः (Bālakāṇḍa 3): Vālmīki’s Yogic Verification and the Epic Synopsis

राक्षसीतर्जनं चैव त्रिजटास्वप्नदर्शनम् ।मणिप्रदानं सीताया वृक्षभङ्गं तथैव च ।।।।

rākṣasītarjanaṃ caiva trijaṭāsvapnadarśanam | maṇipradānaṃ sītāyā vṛkṣabhaṅgaṃ tathaiva ca ||

(He narrates) the threatening of Sītā by the rākṣasīs, Trijaṭā’s dream-vision, Sītā’s giving of the jewel, and also the breaking of trees (in the grove).

(He described) threatenings of the demonesses, (the narration of) dream by Trijata,Sita presenting chudamani to Hanuman and also the breaking of trees (in the grove by Hanuman).

Steadfast dharma under duress: Sītā’s integrity remains unbroken despite threats; truth and fidelity are preserved through endurance and right intent.

Nārada continues the synopsis: Sītā is terrorized by demonesses, Trijaṭā’s dream offers prophetic reassurance, Sītā entrusts a jewel as proof, and Hanumān’s ensuing actions disturb the grove.

Sītā’s constancy and moral courage, alongside Hanumān’s purposeful boldness in service of Rāma’s mission.
