Truly blessed is Saumitrī (Lakṣmaṇa): he beholds Rāma’s countenance—radiant with great splendor, like the spotless moon, and graced with eyes like red lotuses.
Sita, the illustrious daughter of Janaka and princess of Videha, has accomplished her purpose by following Rama, the lord of this earth bounded by the ocean.
Dharma is shown as loyal service to righteousness—Lakṣmaṇa’s fulfillment lies in devoted companionship to Rama, the embodiment of dharma.
As Bharata nears Rama at Chitrakūṭa, he praises those who are close to Rama and share in his presence during exile.
Lakṣmaṇa’s steadfast devotion and selfless service (sevā, bhakti, anurāga) are highlighted.
