भरद्वाजाश्रमात् चित्रकूटमार्गनिर्देशः — Directions from Bharadvaja’s Hermitage to Chitrakuta

तमुवाचाञ्जलिं कृत्वा भरतोऽभिप्रणम्य च। आश्रमादभिनिष्क्रान्तमृषिमुत्तमतेजसम्।।2.92.4।।

sā samprahṛṣṭa-dvipa-vāji-yodhā vitrāsayantī mṛga-pakṣi-saṅghān | mahad vanaṃ tat pratigāhamānā rarāja senā bharatasya tatra || 2.92.39 ||

There Bharata’s army—its elephants, horses, and high-spirited warriors—entered the great forest, startling flocks of beasts and birds, and shone in its massed splendor.

Bharata saluted with folded palms the sage of great powers. And emerging from the hermitage, replied:

B
Bharata
A
army (senā)
F
forest (vana)
B
beasts (mṛga)
B
birds (pakṣi)

The verse frames power as purposeful: the army’s might is not for conquest but for a dharmic objective, underscoring that strength should serve righteousness.

Bharata’s troops enter a great forest; the movement and noise scatter animals and birds as the host advances.

Collective courage and morale directed toward duty, not personal gain.
