Gratified in every desire, smeared with red sandal paste, and accompanied by groups of apsarases, the soldiers raised their voices and spoke out.
All the armymen with their desires gratified and anointing their bodies with red sandal paste surrounded by apsaras exclaimed.
The verse underlines how sense-gratification can loosen moral restraint; dharma requires steadiness even amid abundance and allure.
The soldiers, delighted and ornamented, now begin making loud declarations while surrounded by apsarases.
Again by contrast, the virtue is moderation and fidelity to purpose—remaining aligned with one’s mission rather than being carried away by pleasure.
