अयोध्याकाण्डे त्र्यशीति तमः सर्गः — Bharata’s Departure and Encampment on the Gaṅgā (Śṛṅgīberapura)
प्रयाताश्चार्यसङ्घाता रामं द्रष्टुं सलक्ष्मणम्।तस्यैव च कथाश्चित्राः कुर्वाणा हृष्टमानसाः।।2.83.7।।
prayātāś cāryasaṅghātā rāmaṃ draṣṭuṃ salakṣmaṇam |
tasyaiva ca kathāś citrāḥ kurvāṇā hṛṣṭamānasāḥ || 2.83.7 ||
Groups of venerable citizens also set out to see Rāma together with Lakṣmaṇa, joyfully recounting his many admirable deeds.
Venerable people in groups, narrating various accomplishments of Rama and eager to see him with Lakshmana, proceeded in a delightful mood.
Recognition of dharmic excellence: society gravitates toward a righteous exemplar, and communal memory (recounting deeds) becomes a vehicle for moral education.
Not only the royal party but also respected groups of people travel, eager to meet Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa and speak of Rāma’s virtues.
Rāma’s inspiring reputation—his conduct is so exemplary that it generates collective joy and admiration.
