Shloka 2.81.15

एकाशीति तमः सर्गः — Bharata’s Grief, Courtly Summons, and the Assembly Hall

ततो भरतमायान्तं शतक्रतुमिवामराः।प्रत्यनन्दन्प्रकृतयो यथा दशरथं तथा।।।।

tato bharatam āyāntaṃ śatakratum ivāmarāḥ | pratyanandan prakṛtayo yathā daśarathaṃ tathā ||

Then, as Bharata approached, the ministers and subjects greeted him just as they used to greet Daśaratha—like the gods greeting Śatakratu (Indra).

Then as Bharata apprroached, ministers and subjects greeted him as they used to greet Dasaratha, just as gods greet Indra, the performer of a hundred sacrifices.

Dharma is continuity of rightful order: honoring Bharata as one honors the king reflects loyalty to the institution of kingship and the expectation that power serves truth and duty.

Bharata arrives before the assembled ministers and people, who receive him with the same formal reverence shown earlier to Daśaratha.

Legitimacy and public trust—Bharata is treated with honor, implying confidence in his adherence to dharma and satya.
