Sumantra too—knower of truth—raised Śatrughna, consoled him, and made him hear the teaching on the arising and passing away of all beings.
The knower of reality Sumantra helped Satrughna to rise, after having consoled him, imparted him the truth about the inevitability of birth and death.
Dharma is truth-based consolation: understanding impermanence helps one return from grief to rightful conduct and responsibilities.
As Bharata is counseled by Vasiṣṭha, Sumantra similarly supports Śatrughna, instructing him on the inevitability of birth and death.
Sumantra’s compassionate wisdom—he combines emotional support with philosophical clarity.
