अयोध्याकाण्डे पञ्चसप्ततितमः सर्गः (Sarga 75: Bharata and Kausalya—Reproach, Oaths, and Reconciliation)
ब्राह्मणायोद्यतां पूजां विहन्तु कलुषेन्द्रियः।बालवत्सां च गां दोग्धु यस्यार्यो ऽनुमते गतः।।।।
brāhmaṇāya udyatāṃ pūjāṃ vihantu kaluṣendriyaḥ | bāla-vatsāṃ ca gāṃ dogdhu yasya āryo 'numate gataḥ ||
May he—by whose sanction my noble brother was exiled—incur the guilt of a defiled-sensed man who disrupts offerings prepared for a brahmin and who milks a cow that has a young calf.
May the one who counselled the exile of my esteemed brother acquire the sin in the same way a person with befouled senses disturbs the offerings of worship kept ready for a brahmin and milks the cow having a young calf acquires.
Dharma includes reverence toward sacred rites and restraint from exploitative taking; disrupting worship and exploiting a cow with a dependent calf symbolize callousness and moral pollution.
Bharata continues to stack analogies of wrongdoing, drawing from ritual ethics and pastoral norms to condemn the approval of exile.
