The great king has gone to heaven; Rāma has taken refuge in the forest; and radiant Lakṣmaṇa too has gone along with Rāma.
The great king has attained heaven, Rama has taken refuge in the forest and brilliant Lakshmana has also gone with Rama.
It highlights fidelity to duty and truth: Rāma accepts exile, and Lakṣmaṇa upholds fraternal dharma by accompanying him.
The ministers summarize the kingdom’s crisis: the king is dead and the rightful prince is in the forest with Lakṣmaṇa.
Lakṣmaṇa’s loyalty and steadfastness, and Rāma’s commitment to satya in keeping the exile obligation.
