शब्दवेध्य-अनर्थः, ऋषिशापः, दशरथस्य प्राणत्यागः (The Sound-Target Tragedy, the Sage’s Curse, and Dasaratha’s Death)

स कृत्वा तूदकं तूर्णं तापस स्सह भार्यया।मामुवाच महातेजाः कृताञ्जलिमुपस्थितम्।।।।

sa kṛtvā tūḍakaṃ tūrṇaṃ tāpasaḥ saha bhāryayā | mām uvāca mahātejāḥ kṛtāñjalim upasthitam ||

After quickly completing the funeral water-offering with his wife, the radiant ascetic addressed me, as I stood before him with folded hands.

The radiant ascetic along with his wife hurriedly completed the funeral libations and said to me standing with folded palms:

D
Daśaratha
A
ascetic (tāpasa)
A
ascetic’s wife

Dharma joins ritual duty with moral accountability: after completing rites, the ascetic turns to address the responsible agent, establishing ethical consequence.

The ascetic finishes the funeral libations and then speaks directly to Daśaratha, who stands with folded hands.

Daśaratha’s humility and readiness to receive judgment (kṛtāñjali—supplication and acknowledgment).
