Shloka 2.62.11

अयोध्याकाण्डे द्विषष्टितमः सर्गः — Kausalyā consoles Daśaratha; grief, remorse, and nightfall

सा मूर्ध्निबध्वा रुदती राज्ञः पद्ममिवाञ्जलिम्।सम्भ्रमादब्रवीत् त्रस्ता त्वरमाणाक्षरं वचः।।।।

sā mūrdhni badhvā rudatī rājñaḥ padmam ivāñjalim | sambhramād abravīt trastā tvaramāṇākṣaraṃ vacaḥ || 2.62.11 ||

Weeping, she lifted the king’s folded palms—like a lotus—up to her head; frightened and overwhelmed, she spoke in hurried, stumbling syllables.

Frightened Kausalya, weeping and raising her palms folded like lotus on to her head, and charged with emotions said with stumbling syllables:

K
Kausalya
D
Dasharatha

Dharma includes humility and repentance: when one recognizes excess in speech or action, one seeks reconciliation with respectful submission.

Kausalya’s anger breaks; she becomes frightened and emotional, and begins to plead with Dasharatha.

Kausalya’s humility and readiness to reconcile are emphasized.
