Shloka 2.56.3

चित्रकूटगमनम् तथा पर्णशालाप्रवेशः (Arrival at Chitrakuta and Establishing the Leaf-Hut)

स सुप्तस्समये भ्रात्रा लक्ष्मणः प्रतिबोधितः।जहौ निद्रां च तन्द्रीं च प्रसक्तं च पथि श्रमम्।।।।

sa suptaḥ samaye bhrātrā lakṣmaṇaḥ pratibodhitaḥ | jahau nidrāṃ ca tandrīṃ ca prasaktaṃ ca pathi śramam ||

Awakened at the proper time by his brother, Lakṣmaṇa cast off sleep and drowsiness, and also the travel-weariness that clung to him on the road.

Awakened by his brother in time, Lakshmana shook off his sleep, his drowsiness and his fatigue due to journey.

Dharma is alertness in responsibility: one overcomes personal fatigue to be available for rightful work and service.

At daybreak/at the needed time, Lakṣmaṇa is awakened and immediately regains readiness despite exhaustion from travel.

Lakṣmaṇa’s promptness and resilience—he prioritizes duty over comfort.
