चित्रकूटमार्गोपदेशः — Instructions for the Chitrakuta Route and the Yamuna Crossing

तत प्लवेनांशुमतीं शीघ्रगामूर्मिमालिनीम्।तीरजै र्बहुभिर्वृक्षै स्सन्तेरुर्यमुनां नदीम्।।।।

te tīrṇāḥ plavam utsṛjya prasthāya yamunāvanāt | śyāmaṃ nyagrodham āsēduḥ śītalaṃ haritacchadam ||

After crossing, they left the raft behind and, setting out from the woodland by the Yamunā, came to a dark banyan—cool, and thick with green foliage.

They crossed the swift-flowing river Yamuna, daughter of the Sun-god, full of waves and with trees growing thick on her banks.

Dharma includes measured living: they take what is needed for passage, then move on without possessiveness—leaving the raft and proceeding simply.

Having crossed the Yamunā, the group enters the riverside forest and reaches a cool banyan tree.

Simplicity and non-attachment (aparigraha), reflected in moving onward after use.
