भरद्वाजाश्रमप्राप्तिः — Arrival at Bharadvāja’s Hermitage and Counsel toward Citrakūṭa
प्रविविक्तमहं मन्ये तं वासं भवतस्सुखम्।इह वा वनवासाय वस राम मया सह।।।।
praviviktaṁ ahaṁ manye taṁ vāsaṁ bhavatas sukham |
iha vā vanavāsāya vasa rāma mayā saha || 2.54.32 ||
I think that solitary, secluded dwelling will be pleasant for you; or else, Rāma, stay here with me for the time of your forest-exile.
O Rama, I think you will enjoy your stay there in a solitary place. Or else, you may live with me here during the period of banishment.
Atithi-dharma (duty to guests) and compassion: the sage offers shelter and counsel, supporting the righteous in adversity.
Bharadvāja advises Rāma about a suitable place to live during exile and also offers his own hermitage as an alternative.
