भरद्वाजाश्रमप्राप्तिः — Arrival at Bharadvāja’s Hermitage and Counsel toward Citrakūṭa
पित्रा प्रव्राज्यमानं मां सौमित्रिरनुज प्रियः।अयमन्वगमद्भ्राता वनमेव दृढव्रतः।।।।
bhāryā mameyaṁ vaidehī kalyāṇī janakātmajā |
māṁ cānuyātā vijanaṁ tapovanam aninditā ||
“This is my wife, Vaidehi—Sita, the blessed daughter of Janaka. Blameless as she is, she has followed me even into this lonely forest of ascetic life.”
This is the son of Sumitra, my beloved younger brother, a man of firm resolve. He has accompanied me when I was sent on exile to the forest by my father.
Dharma is portrayed as shared commitment within marriage: Sita’s choice to accompany Rama reflects steadfast companionship and fidelity aligned with their understanding of righteous living.
