गतं तु गङ्गापरपारमाशुरामं सुमन्त्रः प्रततं निरीक्ष्य।अध्वप्रकर्षाद्विनिवृत्तदृष्टिर्मुमोच बाष्पं व्यथित स्तपस्वी।।2.52.100।।

Transliteration

tataḥ kalāpān sannahya khaḍgau baddhvā ca dhanvinau | jagmatur yena tau gaṅgāṃ sītayā saha rāghavau ||

Translation

Then the two Rāghavas, bearing bows, fastened their quivers and strapped on their swords; with Sītā they set out toward the Gaṅgā.

Context

The wretched Sumantra kept gazing at Rama who swiftly reached the other side of the Ganga and only when he could not see him because of long distance, he turned away his gaze and, overcome with grief, shed tears.
