Seeing the sage arrive, Rāma—eager and full of respectful haste—came out from his residence to honour him, as was fitting for one deserving equal reverence.

The king then, dully permitted by the preceptor, disposed the assembly of men and stepped into his inner apartment, like a lion entering the cave of a mountain.

Dharma is reverence to elders and teachers: Rāma actively steps forward to honour the sage, showing that righteousness includes humility and prompt respect.

Rāma notices Vasiṣṭha’s arrival and immediately comes out to receive him properly.

Rāma’s humility, readiness to serve, and respect for spiritual authority are emphasized.
