Shloka 2.5.14

अभिषेकोपवास-आदेशः (Coronation Preparations and the Fast Enjoined)

हृष्टनारीनरयुतं रामवेश्म तदा बभौ।यथा मत्तद्विजगणं प्रफुल्लनलिनं सरः।।।।

suhṛdbhis tatra rāmo 'pi sahāsīnaḥ priyaṃvadaiḥ |

sabhājito viveśātha tān anujñāpya sarvaśaḥ ||

There, Rāma too sat for a time with his sweet-speaking friends; and, having been honored in every way, he then took leave of them and entered his own apartments.

The residence of Rama, full of cheerful men and women, looked splendid like a lake with full-blown lotuses flocked by multitudes of intoxicated birds.

Maryādā (proper conduct) in social life: honoring others, receiving honor without arrogance, and taking respectful leave—dharma expressed as refined interpersonal ethics.

Rāma, after sitting with friends and being honored, politely departs and goes into his residence.
