Though young in years, he is mature in wisdom—gentle, yet endowed with valour and virtues. He will be a fitting protector for you, one who removes fear.

Bharata, enhancer of the delight of Kaikeyi, possesses an auspicious character. He will do for you everything appropriate, agreeable and beneficial.

B
Bharata
R
Rāma

An ideal ruler protects and reassures the people; dharma includes creating fearlessness (abhaya) through virtue, competence, and gentleness.

Rāma comforts the citizens by describing Bharata’s qualities as a worthy guardian during Rāma’s exile.

Balanced leadership: youthful energy joined to mature wisdom, gentleness joined to strength.
