अयोध्याकाण्डे चतुर्थः सर्गः — Rāma Summoned; Pushya Coronation Decision
लक्ष्मणेमां मया सार्धं प्रशाधि त्वं वसुन्धराम्।द्वितीयं मेऽन्तरात्मानं त्वामियं श्रीरुपस्थिता।।2.4.43।।
lakṣmaṇa imāṃ mayā sārdhaṃ praśādhi tvaṃ vasundharām | dvitīyaṃ me 'ntarātmānaṃ tvām iyaṃ śrīr upasthitā || 2.4.43 ||
“Lakṣmaṇa, rule this earth together with me. This royal fortune has come to you as well, for you are to me like a second inner self.”
O Lakshmana! rule this earth together with me. This royal fortune also accrues to you, for you are my second innermost self.
Power is to be shared with trusted, virtuous kin for the public good—kingship is a collective responsibility, not private enjoyment.
Rama, anticipating coronation, reassures Lakshmana that governance and royal prosperity belong to them together.
Fraternal loyalty and non-possessiveness about authority (generosity in leadership).
