यौवराज्याभिषेक-उपकल्पनम् (Preparations for Rama’s Installation as Yuvaraja)
कामतस्त्वं प्रकृत्यैव विनीतो गुणवानसि।।।।गुणवत्यपि तु स्नेहात्पुत्र वक्ष्यामि ते हितम्।
śanais tasmin praśānte ca janaghoṣe janādhipaḥ |
vasiṣṭhaṁ muniśārdūlaṁ rājā vacanam abravīt ||
When the people’s uproar had gradually subsided, the king—lord of his subjects—addressed Vasiṣṭha, the tiger among sages, with these words.
Admittedly gentle by nature, you are gifted with virtues. O son, even though virtuous, I shall offer you counsel for your good out of affection for you.
It highlights orderly governance and disciplined speech: the king waits for public agitation to settle and then consults the chief preceptor, aligning royal action with dharma through wise counsel.
After the public commotion calms, Daśaratha turns to Vasiṣṭha to formally speak and proceed with the next step in the unfolding royal decision.
