Sumantra helped Rāghava alight from the excellent chariot; and as Rāma went toward his father’s presence, Sumantra followed behind with folded hands.
Having honoured them (the invitees) in return for their response, king Dasaratha addressed Vasistha, Vamadeva and other brahmins.
Dharma is expressed through proper service and respectful conduct: attendants support the prince, and approach to elders (the father-king) is marked by humility and decorum.
Rāma arrives by chariot; Sumantra assists him down and accompanies him as he goes to meet Daśaratha.
Sumantra’s loyal service and reverence; Rāma’s orderly approach to paternal authority.
