kṛtakṣaṇā 'haṃ bhadraṃ te gamanaṃ prati rāghava | vanavāsasya śūrasya caryā hi mama rocate || 2.29.15 ||
O Rāghava, I have been counting the days for this departure—may good be yours. For the course of forest-life of my valiant one truly pleases me to share.
Since then I have been counting time for this forest life. It pleases me to follow my valiant hero as he lives in the forest. Rama, prosperity to you!
Shared dharma in marriage: Sītā sees righteousness not as comfort-seeking but as willingly participating in the spouse’s rightful path—even when it is austere.
Sītā expresses not only readiness but positive acceptance of forest life with Rāma, blessing him as she insists on going.
Joyful fortitude—Sītā’s courage is portrayed as willing and even glad, not merely resigned.
