Shloka 2.26.27

अयोध्याकाण्डे षड्विंशः सर्गः — Rama’s Departure and Sita’s Questions; Disclosure of Exile and Counsel on Courtly Conduct

तस्मै दत्तं नृपतिना यौवराज्यं सनातनम्।स प्रसाद्यस्त्वया सीते नृपतिश्च विशेषतः।।।।

tasmai dattaṃ nṛpatinā yauvarājyaṃ sanātanam |

sa prasādyas tvayā sīte nṛpatiś ca viśeṣataḥ ||

The king has granted him the hereditary regency; therefore, O Sītā, you should seek to win his goodwill—and especially the goodwill of the king.

O Sita! the king has conferred the hereditary regency on him. Therefore, O Sita, you must make efforts to win his favour, especially a king's.

Respect for established authority: once a political order is set (rightly or wrongly), dharma in conduct includes honoring the ruler and avoiding actions that inflame conflict.

Rāma urges Sītā to maintain cordial relations with Bharata and to show particular reverence to the reigning king.

Civility and loyalty to social order, even under personal hardship.
