O Rāma, may the auspicious glory that belonged to Viṣṇu of immeasurable radiance when he strode forth in three mighty steps be yours.

O Rama! by occupying three footsteps of space, highly lustrous Visnu owned the three worlds and obtained glory. May you obtain similar auspiciousness!

Three strides (Trivikrama motif)

Dharma is associated with rightful sovereignty and protection: the Trivikrama paradigm symbolizes establishing order without falsehood, and that auspicious authority is invoked for Rāma.

Kauśalyā blesses Rāma by invoking Viṣṇu’s archetypal act of cosmic ordering through the three strides.

Majesty restrained by righteousness—great power is framed as legitimate when it serves order and truth.
