कौशल्यारामसंवादः — Kausalya–Rama Dialogue on Exile-Dharma
कृतान्तस्य गतिः पुत्र दुर्विभाव्या सदा भुवि।यस्त्वां सञ्चोदयति मे वच आच्छिद्य राघव।।2.24.35।।
kṛtāntasya gatiḥ putra durvibhāvyā sadā bhuvi |
yas tvāṃ sañcodayati me vaca āchidya rāghava || 2.24.35 ||
My son—O Rāghava—ever inconceivable in this world is the course of Destiny, which urges you onward, cutting across my words.
O Rama! inconceivable is the course of destiny which is inciting you to go to the forest disregarding my words.
It teaches humility before forces beyond control; dharma is practiced within human limits, with truthful recognition of destiny’s power.
Kauśalyā laments that despite her counsel, destiny drives Rāma toward exile.
Clear-sighted honesty (satya) and reverent humility—she admits the inadequacy of personal persuasion against fate.
