O Saumitra, let the same eager effort that prepared my coronation now be applied to bringing those preparations to an end.
Restrain your anger and sorrow. Dismiss this humiliation (from the mind). Achieve great happiness through fortitude. Remove whatever preparations have been made for the purpose of (my) consecration today, and act quickly so that there is no obstacle.
Dharma is consistency in right action: the same diligence used for gaining power must be used to relinquish it when duty requires.
Rāma instructs Lakṣmaṇa to redirect the palace’s coronation energy toward orderly cancellation.
Samatā (even-mindedness) and disciplined resolve—Rāma treats ascent and withdrawal with equal seriousness.
