अभिषेक-निवृत्ति-उपदेशः (Withdrawal of the Coronation: Rama’s Counsel to Lakshmana)

मा च लक्ष्मण सन्तापं कार्षीर्लक्ष्म्या विपर्यये।राज्यं वा वनवासो वा वनवासो महोदयः।।।।

upakḷptaṃ hi yat kiñcid abhiṣekārtham adya me | sarvaṃ visarjaya kṣipraṃ kuru kāryaṃ niratyayam ||

Whatever has been arranged today for my consecration—set it all aside at once. Act swiftly, and do what must be done without mishap.

Do not grieve, O Lakshmana, over the loss of the kingdom. Living in exile is more glorious than running the kingdom.

abhiṣeka (coronation rites)

Dharma is prioritizing duty and stability over personal gain—Rāma orders the cessation of coronation preparations to prevent disorder.

After the coronation is obstructed, Rāma directs Lakṣmaṇa to dismantle the ceremonial arrangements promptly and safely.

Tyāga (renunciation) coupled with practical responsibility—Rāma is detached yet attentive to consequences.
