अयोध्याकाण्डे एकविंशः सर्गः — Lakṣmaṇa’s militant counsel and Rāma’s dharma-based persuasion of Kausalyā
तदिदं वचनं राज्ञःपुनर्बाल्यमुपेयुषः।पुत्रः को हृदये कुर्याद्राजवृत्तमनुस्मरन्।।2.21.7।।
sā mā 'numanyasva vanaṁ vrajantaṁ kuruṣva naḥ svastyayanāni devi | yathā samāpte punar āvrajeyaṁ yathā hi satyena punar yayātiḥ || 2.21.61 ||
Therefore, O Mother, grant me leave as I depart for the forest; perform for me the rites of blessing and well-being, so that when the term is fulfilled I may return again—just as Yayāti returned again through the power of truth.
Will any son with the ideals of a king in mind accept such words of this king who has entered his chilhood again ?
Satya and dharma are linked: truthful fidelity to a vow sustains rightful outcomes; blessings and auspicious rites support dharmic endurance through hardship.
Rāma seeks his mother’s consent and blessings before leaving for forest exile, expressing confidence in returning after the term ends.
