अभिषेकसज्जा तथा सुमन्त्रस्य प्रेषणम् (Coronation Preparations and Sumantra’s Commission)
सोऽत्यासाद्य तु तद्वेश्म तिरस्करणिमन्तरा।।2.15.21।।आशीर्भिर्गुणयुक्ताभि रभितुष्टाव राघवम्।
so ’tyāsādya tu tad veśma tiraskaraṇim antarā || 2.15.21 ||
āśīrbhir guṇayuktābhir abhituṣṭāva rāghavam |
Drawing near to that chamber, he remained behind the screen and praised Rāghava with blessings rich in virtue.
Having approached the king's bed-chamber Sumatra stood behind the screen, singing his glory and seeking the blessings (of God) on this son of Raghus dynasty.
Maryādā through restrained conduct and truthful-auspicious speech: Sumantra maintains decorum (behind the screen) while offering benedictions.
Sumantra positions himself respectfully in the king’s private space and begins formal praise and blessings to rouse him.
Self-control and propriety—serving the king without violating privacy or protocol.
