Shloka 2.14.33

सत्यपाशः — Kaikeyi’s Demand and the Noose of the King’s Promise

तमुवाच महातेजा स्सूतपुत्रं विशारदम्।।वसिष्ठः क्षिप्रमाचक्ष्व नृपतेर्मामिहागतम्।

tamuvāca mahātejāḥ sūtaputraṃ viśāradam | vasiṣṭhaḥ kṣipramācakṣva nṛpatermāmihāgatam ||

The greatly radiant Vasiṣṭha said to the skilled son of the sūta: “Announce to the King at once that I have arrived here.”

Effulgent Vasistha said to the expert chariotieer Sumantra to inform the king immediately of his arrival.

The 'sutaputra' (son of a charioteer) refers to Sumantra, the trusted minister and charioteer of King Dasharatha.

Vasistha highlights the Dharma of proper conduct (Maryada) and protocol. Despite being the Rajaguru with free access, he respects the King's privacy and station by asking to be announced.
