Shloka 2.119.12

अनसूयाप्रीतिदानम् — Anasūyā’s Blessing and the Forest Path

सा तथा समलङ्कृत्य सीता सुरसुतोपमा।प्रणम्य शिरसा तस्यै रामं त्वभिमुखी ययौ।।।।

sā tathā samalaṅkṛtya sītā surasutopamā | praṇamya śirasā tasyai rāmaṁ tv abhimukhī yayau ||

So Sītā, thus adorned and radiant like a celestial maiden, bowed her head in reverence to Anasūyā and then went forward to meet Rāma.

Sita, adorned, looked like the daughter of a god. She bowed at the feet of Anasuya in reverence and set out to meet Rama.

Dharma is shown as reverence to elders and benefactors—receiving blessings with humility and then proceeding to one’s rightful duty.

After being adorned, Sītā salutes Anasūyā and goes to Rāma.

Sītā’s humility and propriety (maryādā) in honouring a venerable ascetic woman.
