अनसूयोपदेशः तथा सीताया स्वयंवरकथा (Anasuya’s Counsel and Sita’s Swayamvara Narrative)
सा वस्त्रमङ्गरागं च भूषणानि स्रजस्तथा।मैथिली प्रतिजग्राह प्रीतिदानमनुत्तमम्।।2.118.21।।
sā vastram aṅgarāgaṃ ca bhūṣaṇāni srajas tathā |
maithilī pratijagrāha prītidānam anuttamam || 2.118.21 ||
That Maithilī (Sītā) accepted the incomparable gifts of affection—garments, fragrant unguents, ornaments, and garlands.
That princess from Mithila accepted the incomparable gifts of love, the raiment, fragrant unguents, jewellery and also the garland.
It reflects maryādā (propriety): social grace and respectful acceptance within relationships, framed as gifts of goodwill rather than greed.
Sītā is described accepting affectionate gifts—an episode highlighting refined conduct and interpersonal bonds.
