पादुकाभिषेकः — The Consecration of Rama’s Sandals and Bharata’s Trusteeship at Nandigrama
अग्रतो गुरव: सर्वे वसिष्ठप्रमुखा द्विजाः।प्रययुः प्राङ्ग्मुखा स्सर्वे नन्दिग्रामो यतोऽभवत्।।।।
agrato guravaḥ sarve vasiṣṭhapramukhā dvijāḥ | prayayuḥ prāṅmukhāḥ sarve nandigrāmo yato 'bhavat || 2.115.10 ||
All the elders—brahmins headed by Vasiṣṭha—went ahead, facing east, proceeding toward the side where Nandigrāma lay.
Preceded by preceptors, like Vasistha and other brahmins, all of them proceeded eastward in the direction of Nandigrama.
Dharma is pursued under the guidance of gurus: the elders go first, indicating that rightful action in crisis proceeds with counsel, tradition, and moral authority leading the way.
The group sets out toward Nandigrāma, with Vasiṣṭha and other brahmin elders leading the procession.
Reverence for elders and orderly conduct: the community moves in a disciplined, guided manner rather than in disorder.
