शबरी-आश्रम-प्रवेशः (Rama and Lakshmana at Sabari’s Hermitage)
मया तु विविधं वन्यं सञ्चितं पुरुषर्षभ।तवार्थे पुरुषव्याघ्र पम्पायास्तीरसम्भवम्।।।।
sa te pratigrahītavyaḥ saumitri-sahito 'tithiḥ | taṃ ca dṛṣṭvā varān lokān akṣayāṃs tvaṃ gamiṣyasi ||
He will come as your guest, accompanied by Saumitri; receive him with due honor. And upon beholding him, you shall attain excellent, imperishable worlds.
O best among men! I have collected and kept for your sake different kinds of forest-food grown on the bank of Pampa.
Atithi-dharma (duty to the guest): honoring a righteous guest is a sacred obligation, linked with spiritual merit.
Śabarī recounts the sages’ directive that she must welcome Rama and Lakshmana properly when they arrive.
