दनु-शापकथा तथा सीताहरण-प्रश्नः (Danu’s Curse Narrative and Rama’s Inquiry about Sita)
तेन सख्यं च कर्तव्यं न्याय्यवृत्तेन राघव।।3.71.32।।कल्पयिष्यति ते प्रीतस्साहाय्यं लघुविक्रमः।
tena sakhyaṃ ca kartavyaṃ nyāyya-vṛttena rāghava | kalpayiṣyati te prītaḥ sāhāyyaṃ laghu-vikramaḥ ||
O Rāghava, you should form friendship with him by righteous conduct; when pleased, that swift-acting hero will provide you assistance.
O Rama! you should establish friendship with him in a just manner. That hero of swift action will help you when he is pleased.
Dharma in alliances: friendship should be established through fairness and integrity (nyāyya-vṛtti), not manipulation—ethical means create dependable support.
Kabandha instructs Rama on the next strategic step: seek an ally and secure his help through righteous behavior.
Nyāya (justice) in relationships: winning cooperation by principled conduct.
