Indra told me: “When Rāma, with Lakṣmaṇa, cuts off your arms in battle, then you shall go to heaven.”

Indra too had said, 'When Rama along with Lakshmana cuts off your arms in a fight, you would reach heaven.'

Dharma restores what is disordered: righteous force, used by the right person at the right time, becomes a means of release and purification rather than mere violence.

Kabandha reports Indra’s prediction that his salvation depends on being defeated specifically by Rāma (with Lakṣmaṇa).

Rāma’s role as dharma’s instrument—his combat serves a moral and cosmic purpose (deliverance), not personal hatred.
