Shloka 3.71.13
दनु-शापकथा तथा सीताहरण-प्रश्नः (Danu’s Curse Narrative and Rama’s Inquiry about Sita)
एवमुक्तस्तु मे शक्रो बाहू योजनमायतौ।।3.71.13।।प्रादादास्यं च मे कुक्षौ तीक्ष्णदंष्ट्रमकल्पयत्।
evam uktaḥ tu me śakro bāhū yojanam āyatau || 3.71.13 ||
prādād āsyaṃ ca me kukṣau tīkṣṇadaṃṣṭram akalpayat |
When I spoke thus, Śakra granted me arms a yojana long, and fashioned for me a mouth in my belly, fitted with sharp fangs.
Having been entreated, Indra created in me two long arms extending upto a yojana and set my mouth with sharp teeth in the stomach.
Dharma can operate through mixed outcomes: a boon may also be a burden when shaped by past deeds; divine interventions often align with a larger truthful decree rather than immediate comfort.
Kabandha narrates how Indra altered his body—granting long arms and relocating the mouth—setting up Kabandha’s predatory existence in the forest.
Submission to higher order: Kabandha’s condition reflects that individual will is constrained by divine decisions tied to satya and prior causality.
