अयोमुखी-दर्शनम् तथा कबन्ध-प्रवेशः (Ayomukhi Encounter and the ظهور of Kabandha)
तौ दिशं दक्षिणां गत्वा शरचापासिधारिणौ।अविप्रहतमैक्ष्वाकौ पन्थानं प्रतिपेदतुः।।।।
tau diśaṃ dakṣiṇāṃ gatvā śaracāpāsidhāriṇau | aviprahatamaikṣvākau panthānaṃ pratipedatuḥ ||
Bearing bows, arrows, and swords, those two scions of the Ikṣvāku line went southward and set foot upon an untrodden path.
Wielding bow, arrows and sword, both the princes of the Ikshvaku race went southward and entered an untrodden (densely wooded) tract.
The term 'Aikshvakau' refers to Rama and Lakshmana, signifying their descent from the solar dynasty of King Ikshvaku.
The word 'aviprahatam' means untrodden or unfrequented. It highlights that Rama and Lakshmana were venturing into deep, wild, and dangerous parts of the forest where humans rarely went, emphasizing the arduous nature of their search for Sita.
