लक्ष्मणोपदेशः — Lakshmana Consoles Rama on Fate, Fortitude, and Right Action

नष्टायामपि वैदेह्यां हृतायामपि चानघशोचितुं नार्हसे वीर यथान्यः प्राकृतस्तथा।।3.66.13।।

naṣṭāyām api vaidehyāṃ hṛtāyām api cānagha |

śocituṃ nārhase vīra yathānyaḥ prākṛtas tathā || 3.66.13 ||

O sinless hero, even if Vaidehī were lost—or even carried away—you should not grieve like an ordinary man. Your dharma calls for strength of mind and purposeful action, not helpless lament.

Even if Vaidehi is killed or abducted, you should not grieve like ordinary men, Osinless hero !

Lakshmana

Vaidehi (Sita)

Dharma for a hero is disciplined courage: grief may arise, but one must not become helpless; one must act to restore justice and protect the innocent.

Lakshmana urges Rama not to collapse even under the worst assumption about Sita (lost or abducted), and to respond as a responsible protector.

Kṣātra-tejas (heroic resolve): the capacity to endure shock without losing the capacity for righteous action.
