अरण्यकाण्डे एकोनषष्टितमः सर्गः — Maricha’s Mimic Cry and the Rama–Lakshmana–Sita Confrontation
न तत्पश्याम्यहं रक्षो यदस्य भयमावहेत्।निर्वृता भव नास्त्येतत्केनाप्येवमुदाहृतम्।।।।
na tat paśyāmy ahaṃ rakṣo yad asya bhayam āvahet |
nirvṛtā bhava nāsty etat kenāpy evam udāhṛtam ||
I do not see any such demon who could bring fear upon him. Be calm—this is not so; someone has spoken thus only to mislead.
'No one can cause fear in Rama. I do not see any demon who can hold a threat to him. Give up fear. Some one might have said it.
Dharma as buddhi (discernment): Lakshmana urges calm reasoning over panic, resisting manipulation by deceptive speech.
After hearing a frightening cry, Sita is alarmed; Lakshmana argues that no demon could truly threaten Rama and that the cry is likely a trick.
Courage and rational steadiness—Lakshmana remains composed and counsels clarity.
