मारीचवधोत्तरं रामस्य शङ्का-निमित्त-दर्शनं लक्ष्मण-निग्रहश्च (After Maricha’s Slaying: Omens, Anxiety, and Rama’s Rebuke of Lakshmana)
सीतां स तु वरारोहां लक्ष्मणं च महाबलम्।आजगाम जनस्थानं चिन्तयन्नेव राघवः।।।।
tato lakṣmaṇam āyāntaṃ dadarśa vigataprabham |
tato 'vidūre rāmeṇa samīyāya sa lakṣmaṇaḥ ||
viṣaṇṇaḥ suviṣaṇṇena duḥkhito duḥkhabhāginā ||
Then he saw Lakṣmaṇa approaching, his radiance faded. Not far away Lakṣmaṇa came up to Rāma; and Lakṣmaṇa, sorrowful and deeply distressed, found Rāma too cast down—one who shared the same grief.
Rama arrived at Janasthana thinking (of the safety) of charming Sita and mighty Lakshmana.
Dharma recognizes shared burden: in crisis, close kin stand together, bearing sorrow jointly rather than abandoning one another.
Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa meet; both show signs of distress, foreshadowing Sītā’s peril.
Fraternal solidarity: despite fear and grief, the brothers converge and face the situation together.
